maf has uploaded a new Track with the label Vocal #2 BETTER QUALITY maf w/compressor.
File Description:The other one sounded funny(noise when singing). I added the compressor effect, it seemed to get rid of most of the noise. It also changed the tone a little.. I also maybe had the gain/volume down too low. Try this one. Let me know if its OK.

Here's my take on the vocals...I was kinda thinkin' David Lee Roth when I did this..Also it came out a little thin because of the morning(coffee) take..might need to do a afternoon(beer) take. Also it might be better with a jazz singer...

Also all my mixes always come back too bass and compressed sounding(no eq has been applied) eventhough when I'm mixing it to the sound editor it sounds different ????. But for the moment it gives you an Idea..

The song is called "She caught me Lookin" I'll upload the words and info in documents

Yea i think the acoustic guitar and the organ became diconnected at some point they dont seem in sync. I really like the organ the acoustic guitar i put in as original ghost track to help fill things while adding the basics tracks.I would like to hear it with straight parts in it not sure how that would soumd, can you put straight time over shuffle or 6/8?

Need some nice lyrics and a good singer to work an arrangment. Otherwise it just goes round and round.

Rhythm: triplets based additions for melody and solo s will easiest to fit.

Rhythm played by guitar, organ and drums is triple based.
Like in shuffle, blues, swing, jazz, gospel.
Perhaps triple based swung type hip hop and swung type funk patterns will also fit.

If you keep that triple rhythm structure it will fit.
Going to straight eight notes (rock, latin) or sixtheenths notes patterns (funk, disco) means that guitar, organ and drums must be recorded again to fit with the ideas of the new member.

Hello Hitch, Sharkboy, Sir Adonis ...., others,
Raaching out has quality. I think a lot can be done with it.

Nice to have lyrics and perhaps a singer.

Reaching out feels the same as standards in The Real Book etc.
so ... improvisations can be based on general techniques for improvisation using the chords.
Posting the chords as a comment and downloading them for the improvisations will help to stay in tune with the other band members.

I also think experimenting is possible.
I made a classic triple based shuffle swing rhythm out of it but ... other variations are also possible. If you do variations in 16 ths notes in stead of rhythm patterns based on 3 and six notes per count, triples and sixtoles(?), it may be conflicting with the drums and than the drums should be altered to a straight 8th notes or 16 th note pattern as in rock and funk.

What is Amsterdam time for your local time Sharkboy? If possible i will look on the chat at that time.

Hey Guys,

Why don't we meet in the chat room and discuss some ideas. I am usually online between 10PM and 12 AM US Eastern Time.

I would like to do a call and responce thing with the guitar and vocals and then mabe do a formal solo for a few bars.

On the off hand chance this workspace is still in the operational phase...

Are you still looking for a vocalist/lyricist?
If so I would be willing to try my hand at filling that in.

I'm pretty sure I could write you something and get a recording based on that last mix on here.

Sorry there is also a computer drum in the mix. I dont have a horn arrangement without e-drums so therefor ... your mixed my acoutsic drums in the horn arrangement.
