Song Workspace for smile

smile
an old song of mine from 1998 that i still really enjoy playing because of the big epic chords. long ago i wrote lyrics about when your feeling really depressed & how sometimes it only takes 1 smile from a passing stranger to turn your day around (hence the name), but the song evolved so much that the lyrics became useless & i ended up recycling them into another song. its another one of the songs i play by feel & it often changes a little whenever i play it. but i would love to hear something put with this oneday as its very sentimental to me & also one of my trademark tunes.

could add synths into the intro and bridges... somthing different and mellow just a random thaught ... synths sustain pretty good which would carry the single chords thru

yeah i Really like that new intro idea you came up with to maf's lyrics, it would be awesome if you could continue with that feel man because its freakin sweet! i also like your first take on guitars upload as well, its a bit loud & drowns out the bass a bit but i think it could work as well. \,,,/

the jimipage style is 2 rythmn guitars and alot of mix in licks thats 2 rythmn guitars rather than 2 guitars playing same or similar things its 2 guitars playing totally different things :)
lets do both :) cool idea??

RocknRollGuitarplayer
6/30/2011 7:18:33 AM

what i will do is... make a led zep version.. then a alt rock version based on the first one...
we can make 2 versions :) 2 totally different rock styles :)

RocknRollGuitarplayer

I like the first stuff you did better...something sounds off in that one... tuning? timing? or maybe its the singing..lol.  anyway....When you can , can you upload the individual guitar tracks only from the soft and heavy guitars.....and I will mix them on the w\e and get it closer,,, and from there we can add and additional guitars... thanks mate.

ahh... nah.. scrap my first idea.. that was an alt rock version.. i was thinking alt for starters..
but if everyone wants to go high class classic rock on it... i will do a jimi page on it and get it to the level needed :) led zep style hell yeah~!! lets make it sound classic rather than spiderbait grinspoon LOL lets go classic!!!

RNR mate Calleb,  I like the mellow intro and also the heavy guitars from your first go... once you get it down, could you upload the individual seps. for the guitars... I'll put them in the mix on my end and play around with it..   Listening to my vocals, I'm not crash got about the fast part with the harmonies...I might try to mix it up and use some of your vocal patterns..

RocknRollGuitarplayer
6/30/2011 5:59:09 AM

seymour duncan jb humbucker??... is that correct??...
i have some locking heads allready and a seymour jb in an old butcher axe... if the seymour duncan jb is slash's pickup... i will do the modificaction now soldering iron and screwdriver time

RocknRollGuitarplayer
6/30/2011 5:50:51 AM

to get the sound needed... im going to do what ever this takes... i promise!!

RocknRollGuitarplayer
6/30/2011 5:41:11 AM

im going to butcher up a gibson... sounds a bit silly.. they need schallers... ive played better samicks... so im to butcher this gibson with new gear so its a better studio axe rather than just a nice looking peice of..........sh*t ... i wouldnt imagine slash used an un-modified gibson in the studio ... this gibson is nothing on slash's gibson.... i think he has alot of modifications on his guitar for some reason..

RocknRollGuitarplayer
6/30/2011 5:35:11 AM

rocknrollguitarplayer has uploaded a new Idea with the title a little more sustain.
File Description:a little more sustain drive just harmonised guitars no rythmn... the bass is covering the rythmn.. so i think no rythmn.. just melody and riffs.. and bass can be rythmn.. will be a very unique rock sound.. but in a classic rock way .. i like the idea :)...
the only problem with les pauls.. main reason i dont play them tooo much... they dont keep in tune as much as a locking system soloist guitar... so i will replace the machine heads with locking schallers or somthing later on so its less temporamental... grovers used to be brilliant.. but they dont hold tune as good as i would like, so i will fix this gibson up and get it set up as a proper studio axe for classic guitar tone..... this is only a demo idea...a little more sustain...
