Man that guys gross...LOL....Did crack me up though...I actually forgot about the cover until I was midway through publishing. I've already got an idea of what it's going to be, just have'nt taken the photo yet, hopefully tommorow. I'm sure this could be used somewhere, so hang on to it........maybe in part of the video if we get that far.

On that subject I've had a few ideas. Cartoon characters would be better, but too complicated, so the idea of each of us playing our part in whatever envoiroment we choose, with puppets of what we think the other 2 players look like,(exagerated) playing as if playing together in a band.

EG: I would play to the song with maybe 2x 6-8inch puppets jiggling around on top of my drum kit. Puppet No1 (Sharkboy) skinny build with guitar and maybe long black curly hair and almost head banging, Puppet no 2 (Maf) Same build med-long blonde hair with a wicked Mik Jagger mouth on it holding a mic stand. I would pretend to be jamming with the puppets. If you guys did similar, but with your own impression of what we all look like as puppets, then cut betweem clips. We then have all of us playing as real people and as puppets. Well just a thought and would take some work.

I put up cover in next day or so.

Hi guys, I'm going for the mix labelled "clearer vocals" even though in the next mix "with louder solo" the drums sounded better, but I thought it seemed blended better in the first.If either of you want to put the other mix up somewhere at any time thats cool with me! They're both good, I just had to choose one. I'm going to put up the (Jmix) on my profile too.It's a bit bland, but might create a positive contrast.

So at last.......in a minute anyway........it will be.............published!!!!!!!

File Description:

I have reduced the amount of reverb on the solo and cranked it up a bit. I did not have to lower the backround vocal because the louder guitar made up for it.

I messed around with the EQ. I added some more highs to the kick (which also adds some to the snare) but I think it sounds ok. I also added somemore highs and reduced the lows for the master. I noticed that it was a bit to bassy when I listened through an FM transmitter in the car.

I also lowered the boost to the master so there is a little more dynamic range. The overall mix is not as loud as the last one though.

Only minor things I would do which aren't necessarly correct, just the way I would do it are:

the only thing I think is the Lead Guitar should have less reverb and be a little louder and personal. Maybe more highs on the bass drum for a little punch, but you probably don't have that option as its not individually recorded.. Maybe backing vocs durning the lead brought down a bit. Otherwise its great.....Maybe alittle reverb on the climatic ending..so it can match the begining banter...Can't wait for the video...lol

But whatever you guys decide...its good as it is..............

I removed most of the reverb from this one. There is just a little bit to give the vocal a bit more body. No predelay and a small room size.

Maf,

You should try and record with headphones in the future. You can hear the backing tracks in your seps. This makes things sound a bit more muddy.

Shattered, sorry about the large file size but I figured you may want a copy with a higher sample rate. It will sound much better if you want to make it into a CD.

When I said effects on the vocal track, I did mean Mafs vocals not at the end (To avoid confusion.) I think with the fade out and if possible reduction of effects on vocals, it's ready to publish.

What do you guys think.

I'm also going to put up my last attempt at an alt 2nd mix which I'm going to publish too.

Mixed much better, I cracked up laughing at the end. The effects on the vocal tracks seem a bit strong but all generally good. Maybe fade it out from about half way through the mucking about so the last quietest thing you here is the begining of last Hmmmmmm.

and No we are about 2000kms (1250miles) north of the fires, but we sent some clothing and linen, down to them today. Our little town of 6000 is sending down 2 semi trailer loads of supplies tonight, (even supplying the trucks and drivers) It's crazy....1200miles north of us it's been flooded for a week. We have been in drought for years, we've been restricted to 140litres (31 gallons) /person/day for a couple of years now. No car washing or hoses allowed.

I have played around with the vocal abit so that it does not fade out. I have also added some funny sound effects at the end. They may be a little over the top but it makes be laugh every time. :-).

I hope you guys are not any where near those crazy fires.

1. the vocs are a tad late..very little..(lol sorry I'm its something I did with the snapping or sync-ing)

2. I like the dryer mix

3. Thats the old vocal take....what about the new one...I like the backing vocals that I did and the new-er ending vocals..

4. Also , is it in stereo?.....It seems mono, compared...to the other.

5. but if you like it like it is, then go ahead. What do you think?

Hey Maf, Sharkboy is going to upload guitar and bass tracks.........that way we can join the nightmare....LOL!!

The drum tracks to use are kick FI which is in the tracks tab, but I accidentally put the overhead F1 in the mix tab. Both were posted on the 29/12/08 and the mix posted on the 29/12/08 is a basic guide.

Hopefully we'll be back on track then and get it finished. Have fun.
