Song Workspace Upgrade
New Files Tabs
Song workspaces will now display a "New" tab which displays a list of all the new items that have been added to the workspace
over the last 2 days. This makes it easier to find new items that have been uploaded to the workspace.
Smart Default Value
When uploading a file to your song workspace you can select whether the file is an "Idea", a "Track", or a "Mix". Default value for this field
will now change depending on the phase of your project. For example, if your project is in the mixing phase, the default value for an audio file type will be "Mix".
Song Workspaces can set the project's phase from the "edit" workspace page. Only project coordinators may change the workspace settings.
Band Member Ads Show in Workspace
If you create a community or moderated project that is not associated with an online band, you can create ads for open positions and the
ads where displayed on the workspace page. This functionality was not available for "Band Member Only" projects since only band members can participate on
the project. As of November 2010 we added a feature that allowed bands to post ads for open positions. These ads are associated with the band
and not with a particular workspace. This new feature will now display all band level positions on the "members only" workspaces. The ad will
include a link to submit an audition for the band.
New Public Workspace Page
All Song workspaces except for private workspaces have both a public facing view which is available to the public and a members only view which is
only available to MyOnlineBand members and allows artists to post files and add comments.
The public facing version of the page has been modified so that it easier for fans to find using external search engines such as Google and Bing.
New Feedback Forum
Feedback Forum
A new customer feedback forum has been set up with the help of our partners at UserVoice. It allows you to submit ideas for new features, and for other members to vote on your ideas.

Location Specific ads

-
In addition to creating open positions advertisements for your song collaboration projects you may now create ads for your online bands as well. See the new option on the “My Bands” page.
Band Audition work flow
Require auditions for your online band
When ads are created to open positions in your online band, you may specify audition requirements for the positions. This allows each of the members of your band to review the each applicant and vote on whether or not to allow them to join the band. You have several options for audition requirements including:
-
Founding Member Only – In this workflow, the band’s founding member is notified when an audition is submitted. The founding member can then approve or deny the audition.
- Majority – in this workflow, all band members are notified on the audition submission and will have a chance to vote on the audition. If a majority of the members accept the audition, then the artist will be added to the band.
- Unanimous – This workflow is similar to the “Majority” workflow but all members must agree. If any members votes no, the audition will be denied.
Update your published songs
You can now update a published song with a new mix without changing the play count
Now when you edit a song on the "Manager my songs" page, you will now see an option for updating the song.
