Born in
Australia, I've traveled the world several times, seems like I've lived everywhere.
I've always loved to sing and write positive lyrics. I wrote my first complete
song in 1996 I was flat broke and needed a gift for a dear friend. I penned it with my right hand while driving
home from work. When I was done singing it, she said, "that has changed my
life in ways I know I cannot fully comprehend". I was hooked, I have written several songs
without music until this year. I
completed my first song on March 10th, 2007 with the aid of online
collaboration. I wrote, "Our
Anniversary” for my (now ex-wife) and delivered it as a gift on our third
anniversary.
Let me know if
you need original lyrics for your music, or if you want to create music for some
of my vocal only tracks.
About the Music:
The best
interpretation of music is always the one that resonates with who you are. You may hear different words than the ones I
sing. My hope is that anything I produce
will touch you personally and bring about a meaning that is special for
you. I encourage you to listen at least
once before reading this so that you may generate your own experience. The lyrics to the songs are posted in the
player. I offer this section so that you
may have insight into my life, feelings, and contemplations.
More From Life
I entered this into
a techno song competition in hopes of winning a nice microphone. I didn’t win but I thought I would share the
track with anyone who is interested. The
song was performed under a creative commons license. I wrote the lyrics and performed the vocals. The loop was done by Funk D’ Void. I’m looking for anyone that wants to add, and
or modify this track. If you have some
cool ideas, I could even re-track the vocals to fit your mix. I would eventually like to get rid of the
back beat and replace it with something different. If you’re interested in helping, feel free to
download and remix. I will post the
winning remix here.
Your Disguise
This is the first
complete song that I’ve created. The
music is primarily based out of a series of pre-recorded loops found from
different programs. This song is a
testament to the fact that any One person can make a song, regardless of their
knowledge of music theory. I put the music
together a few months ago but struggled to complete the lyrics. I knew the message that I wanted to convey
but couldn’t conjure up the hurt, pain, and agony that was required to give the
vocals life and meaning. I haven’t been
hurt in a long time. I’m fortunate to
have met someone who is going through the healing process of many years of
neglect, and improper treatment. I’m
grateful that through her expressions, I can now give this song life. I attribute my current lack of pain to the
learning’s that I have had (and my amazing wife [now ex-wife]). This song is an attempt to reign in negativity
as life learning experiences. Remember
that no One can hurt your feelings. Only
you can hurt your own feelings. With
that in mind, look to those that hurt as teachers. When you have the learning’s, move on. If you feel this song has touched you, please
share with others.
Here For You
This song was
almost removed from my page. I work with
several music collaboration sites and this instrumental track was complete by
the time that I found it. Counterfeit
was asking for someone to add original lyrics and vocals to his music only
track. I instantly resonated with the
track, singing the current chorus from the first play. Some, maybe all songs, seem to write themselves. If you’re a lyricist, then you know what I
mean. I try to empty myself and let the
words flow. I spent weeks working on
this track, in and out of the studio. I
was so proud of it; my ego told me it would sound good on the radio. When I sent it back to Counterfeit he
immediately told me to take it off MySpace (he found another vocalist and got a
record deal). All of my hard work, love,
and energy would disappear. He posted
the song under a “creative commons license”.
I found out that I could distribute it freely as long as I reference his
name. It was quite the battle to keep
this song on this page. I apologize for
singing out of key, I have since received a few negative comments. At the time, I thought the vocal inflections
were creative. I doubt I will redo it
since I want people to see the progression of Justice as a vocalist. This song has some hidden meaning. The chorus asks you to “look inside my
mind”. The truth is you won’t find much
there. I do my best to live from my
heart and act in the moment. I’ve found that living in that moment provides
pure love. My thoughts lead me astray; my heart always
guides me where I need to be, and to whom I need to be with. I’m no stranger to insanity and oftentimes
blur the line. Have you ever been the
“only sane one”? Are you crazy, or are
they? Because of my namesake, “the
truth” is a very important concept for me.
If you really knew “the truth”, then you would see heaven unfold and
envelope you in this now moment.
Perfection can exists upon this planet; perfection begins within. When you begin perfecting yourself, you will
find me, beside you, you’ll find that I was “Here for You” all along.
Our
Anniversary
I’ve been writing
and singing original lyrics since I was fifteen. The initiator was a love found and divided by
distance and circumstance. The story of
Romeo and Juliet has been a constant theme in my life, providing separation not
by house ,but by distance (I’m nomadic and have moved often). This has proven
to be the ultimate separator. This song
is a testament that neither time, nor distance was able to separate what was
meant to be. The gravity of love brought
my wife back to me after many years of separateness. I am fortunate and grateful to have an amazing
supporter that I look to for daily sustenance.
I pour forth-enormous gratitude to Eric May for his tireless
songwriting, which helped bring this song to life. Despite broken guitar
strings, ragged fingers, marathon recording sessions, and late night police
visits (loud noise), Eric was able to create this masterpiece for your
enjoyment. John Wooten, from his studio,
was able to contribute drums and master the final mix. I gained appreciation for John’s efforts when
self-editing “Your Disguise”. [Edit –
the wife didn’t workout but the song will stand forever, asa reminder of all the good].
Thank you for
reading and supporting my music. Without
you, I would have no reason to write, sing, and share. I am grateful that you have found my page and
have shared some of my experiences.
